We are proud to announce that our cosmetic dentist, Dr. Peter Ciampi, was recently named a 2013 “Top Dentist” in New Jersey Monthly magazine. Each year, the aforementioned magazine conducts a statewide survey polling licensed New Jersey dentists on who they believe to be deserving of a “Top Dentist” recognition. Once the peer nominations have been collected, results are tallied, checked for duplications, and top vote-getters are added to a preliminary list. From this list, each top dentist in New Jersey is eventually selected by an advisory board composed of 15 recipients from the previous year.
Upon learning of Dr. Ciampi’s “Top Doctor” recognition, we pulled him aside to get his take on the award and how he feels it will impact his practice and goals for 2013. You can read our Q&A with Dr. Ciampi below.
Question: What does this peer nomination mean to you?
Dr. Ciampi: It’s an honor to be recognized by my colleagues – that they can acknowledge my credentials and see the successful clinical outcomes of the treatments I provide to my patients. It’s an honor that they can recognize the commitment that I have to each and every patient that seeks my help.
Q: How do you feel the recognition improves Spring Lake Dental Care as a whole?
DC: It reinforces that we are providing the highest level of care with the most recent dental technology available. Furthermore, it demonstrates that we are providing the best clinical outcomes for patients, appreciated not only by my patients, but also by my colleagues.
Q: What will you do to continue to uphold and exceed this achievement and recognition?
DC: I will continue to take many hours of continued dental education, as well as hold my position as Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. I’m also presently working on the highest recognition in the Academy of General Dentistry, called the Lifetime Leadership Service Recognition. Hopefully within the next year or two I’ll be able to achieve what is called LLSR, or the Lifelong Learning and Service Recognition, which also recognizes all of the volunteer work that I do. Additionally, I will continue to give back to the community and people in need by staying involved in the Remote Area Medical volunteer core.
Q: As a “Top Dentist,” what is your main goal for your practice in 2013?
DC: My goal is to continue to stay on top of the latest in technology that is available in dentistry. In an effort to help achieve this goal, we are in the process of getting a digital scanner, specifically the 3M™ True Definition Scanner, so we can take digital impressions of our patients’ teeth. We are also considering upgrading and purchasing another dental laser. Both of these technologies will help enable us to provide the most effective results possible for our patients.
