Dr. Ciampi recently returned from his fourth consecutive Remote Area Medical® (RAM) mission trip to Knoxville, TN. As we highlighted in a previous blog post, he was looking forward to providing an assortment of dental care – including screenings, tooth extractions, dental fillings, and teeth cleanings – to patients who either can’t afford or don’t have access to proper means of care.
Upon his return, Dr. Ciampi was thrilled to tell us he and his co-volunteers saw about 800 patients, many of whom slept in their cars the night before in order to be first in line on Saturday morning at 6:00 a.m. He also expressed his gratitude for the number of compliments he received about how friendly he was while providing care, as well as how appreciative patients were that he took the time to thoroughly explain everything he was doing.
Overall, Dr. Ciampi had a great experience and says he already looks forward to returning next year.
